DNR feat. Luminor, Exclusive Interview with CBOET AND THOIFANCLUB in English
Hi guys, it's Cinema Bizarre e-team (which you already know) and Tokio Hotel italian fanclub; as the 2 german bands have so many fans in common, we arranged to join the interviews and have just one for both of the fandoms!
Some questions to Luminor:
We know Kira and you are close friends... do you feel like telling us how it started?
Kira wrote to me long before our cooperation. I had a very good imagination from him and what I read from him showed me a deep personality who can see many things.. maybe sometimes too much like I do. I felt very connected to him always.. from beginning on.. We kept in contact..... so it all began.
Are you excited about going back on stage after more than a year off?
Well I had my re-premiere already in Moscow.... and it was like coming home. I felt alive again.
Why with DNR?
As i told you i was in contact to Kira. And after my parting from cinema bizarre i was free to do whatever i wanted to do... what has not been the case before of course....
I always could identify myself more with the music dnr did than with the one from cinema bizarre. Especially more and more in the case how the music developed..
Kira asked me if I would agree to do this cooperation, and their management as well. I needed some time just for myself after the hurting parting from cb ....but then i was ready to come back . And agreed. I love the guys' music. I can really feel it.
Are you going to continue as a solo artist after touring with DNR?
This is my destination i want to get to, of course. I am working on it. I have many rivers to cross and many bridges to break for that, Iknow. But I will do all that I can to be back on stage. As a solo artist. You have the highest freedom when you have nothing left to loose.
Do you think CB fans deserted you when you left the band?
Absolutely not!! I had the most loyal and trusting fans that a singer can have. They believed in me and my returning, supported me, in
times when even I could not imagine how to continue.... So the answer really absolutely is no.
Any memories about the italian ones? And about Italy?
Of course. They were next to the french fans some of the biggest believers in me.... I have spent now a bit time in italy... longer than I could in the past.. and I was always gently welcomed.... and I felt so as well.
I totally fell in love with florence…. and I want to know more and more about the country.
Интервью с DNRNow, tell us a bit about yourselves, for the ones who don't know DNR…
A family consisting of five guys who devoted everything to music, heart, soul and body; we're inspired by Visual Kei, mixed up with Western influences.
DNR are: Sieg, AxiA, Kira, DeLord and Ash.
Although recently we've gotten a german cousin-in-law who doesn't really need any introduction, Luminor!
How would you define your style and what are your musical inspirations?
We like to call it Eurovisual, that's a fusion of western hard rock / glam and Japanese J-rock / Visual Kei.
We get inspiration from Oriental bands such as X Japan, L'Arc en Ciel, Dir en Grey, GazettE, Malice Mizer, Alice 9, Janne da Arc... and then fuse them with our childhood favorites, like Motley Crue , Stryper, Bon Jovi,Kiss , but also contemporary stuff like 30 Seconds to Mars, Hardcoresuperstar… list would never end!
Are you happy about you Luminor collab? How was the whole thing born?
Kira has been keeping contact with Luminor since quite a long time ago, and beyond friendship, there has always been a deep professional appreciation; his voice is so deep and thick, it can make any kind of sound stand out. So after that, our ways crossed, thank also to the supervision of Harris Ghouse, our manager.
Your European tour with Luminor has kicked off. What's your foreign audience like, and how were you welcomed? Tell us about it.
The reception was unbelievable! We got so much excitement at the airport already, then the first date in Moscow was an amazing experience! Everything was as it was supposed to be… we often don't get what we want from our lives, from ourselves, but we can grant that on December 18th we realized a dream, we hit a target we had been chasing for so long! We're longing to repeat it and bring the show throughout Europe!
Japanese and Visual Kei influences are are easily spotted in your style. Why do you think all this is so in vogue with new generations?
We don't know why it is in vogue now. We've been like that for ages, but honestly we're glad to see people being more interested in this, the genre it's totally worth it. Visul key is more than just music, it's passion, it means giving everything for music: sound and images, soul and body. Image is as important as music to us; it's like one more channel to complete the message, just like in the Visul Kei japanese bands that we're inspired by. Our look catches people's attention, while music seizes their hearts. At least, that's what we feel, that's how live it!
Do you like Mangas? Which ones?
Right now we can just think of Nana and Death Note!
Do you think Tokio Hotel looks recalls any japanese culture?
No. I mean, only Bill tries to emphasize japanese council style, he looks something like Toshi from Xiapan in the last album… and he looked a bit like Uruha from GazettE in the previous one… still too little to call him Visual Kei. You should ask him… anyways, music stays the main thing!
What's your opinion about TH? What do you think is the basis of their success?
Being raised in music, you can hear it's a real band and not a casted thing! Despite all the negative criticism, they're professionals and we respect them.
Now the shallow part… who of you has got more fans?! And who's the sexiest??
You should ask our fans, we don't have statistics here! What would you say? ^^
Any propitiatory ritual before performing?
One minute before the show, we gather in a circle and scream our lucky word… which can be different according to the situation… Last one was "acquainted!", but don't ask me what it means… (that's another story!)
Some questions to AxiA:
You joined DNR just a while ago… what was it like, to join a band when all the other members have been friends for many years, and getting the main role?
It was a pleasure since the very beginning… you just can't hate DNR! They're amazing guys… we got on really well immediately, and now I feel like I've been in the band for ages! Fitting in was totally spontaneous.
Did you already know DNR?
Sure, I knew them very well… I was friends with Kira and Sieg. I met the others when I joined the band!
You were a singer even before getting in the band; what changed since you became of DNR? Are you missing anything from your previous career?
No, I feel really good with DNR, and now I just wanna do good and give all I can for this band. Nothing in me changed since I'm with DNR… I'm still the same guy
Your DNR debut took place some weeks ago in Castreggio, how did you feel before and after the performance?
I was so full of energy! Not nervous or worried at all! we've always worked united… there's complicity among us on stage, and that helped me be serene enough to handle such an important show.
And what can you tell us about the Russian debut? I's the first time the whole band has played abroad… how did you feel?
It was awesome!! A real strong emotion! The russian fans were incredible! When I saw our fanclub waiting for us at the airport, it was something great! We couldn't wish for a better start.
Do you fear a comparison between Mantis (ex DNR singer) and you?
I'm on good terms with Mantis and I don't dread comparisons with him…. because we're very different, with completely different voices and styles… and we appreciate each other a lot!
